Are you confused about what to recycle?

Let us help you by Cutting the Confusion and showing you how to present your plastics for recycling so we can all recycle more. Successful recycling relies on people making sure their recycling is ‘clean, dry and loose’

Yes Please!

Plastic Bottles

All household plastic bottles – Just give them a rinse and put the lid back on!

  • Water
  • Fizzy drinks
  • Squash
  • Sauces
  • Cooking oil
  • Washing up liquid
  • Bleach
  • Antibacterial spray
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Shower gel
  • Garden products
  • Car products

Plastic Pots, Tubs and Trays

All plastic pots, tubs and trays can be included and you CAN include black trays in your recycling!  Remove film lids and absorbent pads, scrape off leftover food and rinse. Shake off any excess water and put plastic lids back on pots.

Cellophane lids and cling film need to be removed as we cannot recycle these

No thanks!

Please do not include any of the following in your recycling bin
as we cannot currently recycle them;

  • Cellophane lids
  • Shrink wrap
  • Absorbent pads
  • Bubble wrap
  • Crisp packets / sweet wrappers
  • Baby food /pet food pouches
  • Toothpaste tubes
  • Carrier bags / bread bags (some supermarket have collection points)
  • Cling film

The On-Pack Recycling Label delivers consistent UK-wide messaging for use on packaging

The scheme is based on current local authority recycling services and reflects what CAN be recycled, and where.
